Why a RedGifs download may fail
Use a short troubleshooting path for rejected inputs, unavailable public media, provider limits, and temporary network errors.
Quick answer
Check the input route and public availability first, then wait and retry when the provider or network is temporarily unavailable; a valid URL cannot restore media the provider no longer exposes.
Steps
- Confirm that the input is an HTTPS RedGifs watch, iframe, users URL, or valid username.
- If the provider is busy or temporarily unavailable, wait briefly and submit the same public input again.
- For a download error, refresh the result, choose a currently listed quality, and retry the affected item.
Limits to keep in mind
- A retry cannot restore media that is removed, private, restricted, or unavailable at the provider.
- Rate limits, network failures, provider changes, and CDN availability can block a request even when the input is valid.
Common questions
Why is my URL rejected?
RedPuller accepts only supported HTTPS RedGifs video routes, /users/ profile routes, or a valid creator username; unsupported hosts and paths are rejected before resolution.
Why is a listed quality unavailable?
The provider can change a rendition between metadata lookup and download. Refresh the item and use a quality that is currently listed.
